Video Processing and Rendering Software for a Trajectory Analysis Football Training App
We have provided support in developing the app’s backend, including vision processing and, to a lesser extent, AI/ML components, and provided a top-notch team to redesign and improve the mobile app itself. We have followed a DevOps methodology with CI/CD for mobile app and backend infrastructure.

The existing app suffered from unmaintainable, messy code with no versioning scheme
The client faced multiple challenges that threatened the success of KickerAce. The existing mobile code was outdated and could not support a growing user base. The backend infrastructure lacked scalability, risking slowdowns or crashes under high demand. Video processing pipelines were complex and required specialized AI/ML expertise. There were no DevOps pipelines for CI/CD, and the app had no proper versioning or maintainable structure.
Additionally, internal technical resources at the client were limited, and previous attempts with other partners had caused delays in the go-to-market timeline. The software needed a rapid overhaul to align with a new UI design while ensuring reliability for concurrent users.
Without addressing these issues, the app risked crashing under load, providing inaccurate feedback, delaying launch, and undermining user trust. The client needed a comprehensive solution to stabilize, scale, and modernize the platform.
DAC.digital formed a dedicated team to develop a stable app with a smooth mobile experience
DAC.digital assembled an independent, interdisciplinary team with expertise in mobile development, backend systems, video processing, AI/ML, and DevOps. The core areas of support were focused on Data Science with Python, image analysis, and DevOps practices. Tasks were coordinated through “Block Planning Sessions” or prioritized via email, ensuring alignment with client goals and product priorities.
The collaboration began with stabilizing the KickerAce mobile app and later extended to the Shot Analyzer software. The team started by performing detective work to locate the most recent app version, fixing critical issues and redeploying it to testers to establish a stable baseline. They then cleaned up the code and redesigned the application to reflect new UI designs.
Backend systems were reorganized following best practices: development and production environments were decoupled, proper DevOps infrastructure was established in Azure, and CI/CD pipelines for the mobile app were implemented. Meanwhile, a dedicated subgroup focused on refining image analysis and AI/ML components to support scalable video processing. All development was closely coordinated with the client’s Product Owner to ensure alignment with product goals.
With the new app, the client can expand globally and stay confident that app won’t crush under high demand
DAC.digital delivered a fully scalable and functional software solution that met all deadlines, requirements, and specifications outlined at the project’s start. The collaboration was built on transparency, openness, and honesty, fostering strong trust between DAC.digital and the client’s team. Our problem-solving approach and deep understanding of both technology and business allowed the Sports Computing team to feel confident in the results.
Key outcomes include:
- Scalable video processing that ensures smooth performance for large numbers of concurrent users.
- Refactored mobile app that supports the new UI, reduces crashes, and improves maintainability.
- Reliable backend and DevOps pipelines enabling continuous updates, monitoring, and efficient development cycles.
- Focus on product growth and user experience rather than technical firefighting.
The scalable video processing and robust infrastructure enable the client to introduce new features, expand to additional sports, and support more simultaneous users without risk to performance.
The interdisciplinary setup also allows for rapid experimentation with AI/ML enhancements, such as advanced motion analysis, personalized training recommendations, or gamification elements. Continuous monitoring and CI/CD pipelines ensure that updates and new features can be delivered seamlessly, maintaining a high-quality user experience.
