Research on Real-Time Locating Systems (RTLSs)

Bartosz Jachimczyk carried out an research on Real-Time Locating Systems (RTLSs) and their methodological customization in the specific indoor environment in an industrial Ph.D. program Blekinge Tekniska Högskola (BTH) in cooperation with DAC.digital.

Application of Real-Time Locating Systems

Among others, you can widely apply RTLSs as localization and tracking tools in large industrial and logistics fields. You can also use them for safety at construction sites. RTLSs found a wide range of applications in healthcare for monitoring, tracking people and goods, as well as animals´ monitoring in agriculture. Increased performance of such tools influences the quality of a solution. In the era of IoT and Industry 4.0, it is a key value for industry and end-users (society).

Real-Time Locating Systems’s research with cooperation with DAC.digital

Research on RTLSs and their methodological customization has been carried out by Bartosz Jachimczyk in an industrial Ph.D. program Blekinge Tekniska Högskola (BTH) in cooperation with DAC.digital. The collaboration was also appreciated by Sparbanksstiftelsen Kronan Foundation by awarding the scholarship for two BTH master students who carry out the master project in the DAC company in 2017.

15 journal and conference papers reflected seven years of research. Bartosz’s doctoral dissertation summarized the final results. The thesis proves that system customization enhances the location system’s performance in terms of accuracy, precision, and method simplification. The proposed methodological customizations applying the user-centered design method intend to dynamically adapt and/or adjust the system to meet the functional and non-functional requirements.

Customization methods presented by Bartosz are generic. You can convey them onto other applications and localization systems in various wireless technologies. You may apply such methods in both newly installed and already operating RTLSs.
