European Week of Regions and Cities – Co-design Digital Innovation Hubs in New Member States

European Week of Regions and Cities - Co-design Digital Innovation Hubs in New Member States

On October 11th, 34 potential Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs) from the EU13 Member States received training on how to develop a sustainable DIH in their region. The workshop focused on the opportunities and barriers the trainees are facing.

The session used a highly participatory approach based on design thinking and co-creation methodologies to identify and validate recommendations for policymakers at the regional, national, and EU levels.

We had the chance to discuss how Digital Innovation Hubs contribute to the implementation of Digitizing European Industry strategy. The event concluded with a working session on policy recommendations on how to support DIHs in their mission. – comments Mateusz Bonecki, Ph.D., Chief Innovation Officer at DAC and representative of 3HUB – Pomeranian Digital Innovation Hub.

DIH are ecosystems that consist of SMEs, large industries, startups, researchers, accelerators, and investors. They aim to create the best conditions for long-term business success for all involved.

The workshop has been organized by European Commission DG CNET as a part of the European Week of Regions and Cities in Brussels. DAC.digital was one of its attendees.
