No Hardware Required!

Many organizations using or planning to use eye tracking face limitations that restrict them to use this innovative technology to its full potential.

The limitations include measurement errors between lab and natural environments forced by a need for a dedicated eye tracking hardware, or high maintenance and scaling costs due to reliance on specialized lab and eye gaze tracking equipment that adds cost and does not allow for flexibility and mobility of the measurement tools.

All these problems are solved by our approach to eye tracking powered by machine learning. We are able to achieve market-standard accuracy without the need for dedicated hardware, just using a smartphone or laptop camera as an input device.

How about instead of building a lab and buying sophisticated equipment, just send your user a link to their phone.

The Best Way to Ensure Full Flexibility and Control Over the Solution is to Build a Dedicated Eye Tracking System.

No Extra Hardware Required

Using machine learning technology, a custom gaze estimation solution is able to track eye and head movements with high accuracy (within 15-20mm on average) using the front camera of a smartphone or webcam.

The user of your eye tracking software can participate in research on the other side of the world. In addition, the expansion, scaling, and relocation of your eye tracking system is a matter of algorithm development, not expensive lab expansion and extra equipment purchases.

Multiple Coordinates

Competitive eye tracking software solutions (e.g. Tobii) only provide X and Y gaze coordinates. The gaze estimation systems we build are able to return multiple coordinates, data points and insights, allowing our solution to have a wide range of applications and support unusual edge cases, using and returning more data for you to use.

Solution Customization

Eye tracking software solutions that we build are modular. This means that individual algorithms in your end solution can be easily updated or replaced.

In this rapidly evolving technology, a new solution or better standard for updating your gaze estimation system is available in hours, not weeks.

Custom Data Visualization

Having data and understanding data are two different things. DAC.digital is also a team of experienced user experience designers and analysts who can help you create a custom data visualization tailored to the needs of your project.

We can easily build 2D and 3D gaze data visualizations, saccades, scanpaths, heat maps, transition probabilities, interest sequences, and design a custom dashboard that shows eye tracking results.

You own the IP, you are in control

Your eye tracking solution is not hostage to an external software or hardware vendor. You own the IP of the system we build for you, and you develop it as you see fit. This means that not only is there no risk that your system will not be supported, but that the development of new and changing features is entirely dependent on your business strategy.

Case Study
AI Eye Tracker for Mobile Market Research

For our partner Eye Square GmbH, we developed an AI screen-based gaze estimation system for in-context market research. Traditional lab-based methods require specialized eye gaze devices. Our AI solution, however, enabled remote gaze estimation using standard mobile phones and webcams to do consumer behavior analysis in the real-world and at scale.

We integrated machine learning models that were trained on diverse datasets to improve accuracy under varying lighting conditions, head movements, and device types. This approach increased the scalability and accessibility of eye-tracking research and helped acquire deeper insights into user attention and engagement in natural environments.

From Concept to Solution
DAC.digital’s Approach to Building an AI Eye Tracking Software

DAC.digital follows a proven AI development methodology that takes projects from initial concept to full deployment, so you can achieve both technical rigor and user-centered design.

Define Project Goals and Planning

Our experts will spend time with your team to truly understand your gaze estimation project needs and business goals, and establish clear usability, usability and scalability requirements.

Technical Proof of Concept Development

The second step is to develop a Proof of Concept (PoC) to validate key assumptions about the eye tracking solution architecture and technical feasibility before moving to full-scale development and extensive deep neural network training.

Eye Tracking Data Collection

To achieve high accuracy and reliability, we develop a customized data collection approach to collect high-quality, diverse training data suitable for your use case.

AI Model Optimization and Testing

The next step is to build and train models to handle different environments and platforms to give you high accuracy in tracking gaze behavior and head position.

Deployment and Scale

We design your eye tracking software as a hardware-free solution that can be deployed at scale and deliver insights across multiple devices, such as mobile, desktop and tablet.
