The client was responsible for maintaining and modernizing critical road-infrastructure systems across multiple regions, with thousands of traffic-light controllers and sensors operating simultaneously. Their operations depended on reliable, real-time insightsbut their existing tools weren’t built for the scale, diversity, or responsiveness that modern ITS environments require.
They relied on a mixture of legacy technologies and vendor-specific devices that provided only limited visibility into what was happening on the ground. Each device class used its own protocol, its own interface, and its own way of reporting failures, creating a fragmented ecosystem that was hard to monitor and nearly impossible to streamline.
