Ecommerce Platform Migration Enabled Customization, Cross-Platform Access, and Improved Tourism Experience Without Data Loss
The client faced legacy system limitations that prevented them from adapting to user needs and managing content efficiently across multiple instances
The client’s platform was built on outdated WordPress instances, which is why they faced multiple challenges related to their existing CMS and platform infrastructure. These limitations included slow performance, limited customization options, and a rigid content management workflow that made it difficult to maintain consistency across multiple pages and user experiences. The existing architecture also restricted scalability, hindered integration with modern frontend technologies, and complicated updates or feature enhancements, making it challenging for the platform to meet evolving user expectations and business goals.
Inefficient UX Design
The client’s existing CMS was not intuitive, had poor UX, and visually unappealing frontend design, all of which negatively impacted the user experience.
Performance Issues
As the platform exhibited slow performance, improving the speed and responsiveness of the websites was a top priority to boost user engagement. The aim was to transition the CMS to Next.js, as it offered better optimization potential.
Lack of Customization Options
The client expressed dissatisfaction with the limited customization capabilities of their current system. They required a more flexible solution that would allow for dynamic adjustments, better reflecting their brand.
Limited Content Control
One of the significant challenges was the limited control over the content that appeared on the frontend. The client followed a “one source of truth” model for content distribution, which led to inconsistencies when individual instances were customized for specific contexts. While the central content was standardized, local customization often resulted in deviations and lacked uniformity.
A headless CMS gave the client a customizable and efficient system that was capable of adapting to evolving business needs
After analyzing the client’s needs for flexibility and customization, the platform was rebuilt using a headless CMS architecture. This approach decouples content management from the frontend presentation layer, enabling greater flexibility, modularity, and scalability. Users can now update content, customize layouts, and enable or disable features without affecting the core system. Multiple CMS instances were established: a central CMS serving as the primary content source, and client-specific CMS instances allowing for easy frontend customization while maintaining brand consistency.
we selected Strapi as the primary CMS. Strapi, being an open source Node.js headless CMS, allowed for a modular approach. Dynamic content updates and customization could be implemented without directly affecting the core content structure.
The newly designed system made it possible for users to:
- Customize colors and layouts.
- Enable or disable specific modules as needed.
- Adjust the frontend to better reflect their brand and user experience requirements.
Additionally, multiple CMS instances were established:
- A central CMS for the client: it served as the primary content source.
- A client-specific CMS: it allowed users to configure frontend elements with minimal technical effort.

Client avoided data loss with a tailored copying and translation system
The client had a complex data system that required careful synchronization to avoid data loss or inconsistency. Our team developed a data copying and translation mechanism to guarantee that the original data remains intact while being transferred to the new system. This complex and meticulous method was introduced to meet the client’s critical requirement of preserving existing data.
Cross-continental collaboration didn’t hinder the work
Since the client was based in Australia, our developers, based in Poland, displayed a proactive approach and scheduled meetings at unconventional hours to accommodate the client’s time zone. This included early morning or late evening sessions to safeguard the project’s continuity and guarantee alignment in objectives.
With an adaptive and client-focused mindset, our developers can successfully navigate the challenges of collaboration across different time zones, and are capable of working with clients from diverse geographical locations.
